Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. (Romans 15:7)
Accepting others does not come easy. We live in the world where society (the world) teaches us we do not have to put up with this or that... we do not have to accept this or that... we to not have to do this or that...
But do you ever think of the long suffering consequences we are faced with when we live life as the world rather than that as a child of God? If we learn to accept others for who they are, we do not expect more of them than we are willing to give of ourselves... just the best we can be. In some, the best may be just getting them to crack half a smile. But, that is just who they are.
Christ died on the cross -- accepting EVERYONE with all their faults and sins -- to save us from our sins. If he can do that for us, then shouldn't we at least try a little harder to do that for our brothers and sisters?
Ya know, we do not have to like how they live or what they believe... we do not have to run with them or behave like them.... but as a Christian, it is our job to have acceptance of others. We should be showing them the light we possess and with hope, we will have made progress to bring another brother or sister with us into the mansions of glory our Father has waiting for us.
Everyone does not have to be unitary, just have a bit of charity in your heart and even in the worst, know there is better trying to surface. Accept them. Give them hope and faith. Give them love and understanding. For God does that for all of us. We are to be godly, as Christ. Tho we ourselves will have sin, we should not throw stones lest we have no sin of our own.
